Appartment complex De Silodam is designed by architect MVRDV and it was delivered in 2002. The complex contains 157 appartments (of which 143 buy, 3 social rent and 11 rent in which a group for elderly people resides) and 1 office space. There is a great variety of different types of appartments ranging from 60 m2 to 240 m2. This variety is expressed as well in the interior by using different colours in the hallways as on the exterior facade by using different colours and material. There is a beautiful terrace on the river IJ side which is accesible by the public between 6h and 23h and can be reached by following the stairways in the central entrance hall. The SiloTerrace at the end of the Silodam provides the best sunsets of the city.
