HyET Solar has developed proprietary production technology for producing lightweight and flexible thin-film silicon solar cells on long foil substrates in a number of roll-to-roll steps. The active layers which convert light into electricity are less than 0.003 millimeters thick. First, solar cells based on single junction amorphous silicon solar cells (~7% efficiency) were developed. HyET Solar has now added the technology for flexible solar foil with amorphous nanocrystalline silicon tandem cells for product efficiencies exceeding 10%.
